Calculation of the amount of grout for tile joints

Tile grout is a cement mortar sold in powder form and mixed with a liquid until a thick paste forms. Some varieties of this material are available ready-to-use mixtures in buckets. The main purpose of this paste is to fill the joints between ceramic tiles, protect against moisture and other foreign substances, support and frame its edges.

Depending on the composition, the grout mixture is divided into cement-sand - based on sand and Portland cement or epoxy - based on epoxy.

Cement-based tile grouts are dry mixes diluted with water or liquid latex. They exist in three varieties: industrial cement, a mixture of latex with cement and dry hardener.

The epoxy resin grout consists of a hardener and resin, which give the joints greater resistance to various chemical elements and make them more impact resistant. Grouting of this type is significantly more expensive.
